For photo shoots of products and small consumer items, you might want to consider learning how to make a lightbox or get one of these 20-inch lightbox mini photo studios from Hammacher and Schlemmer.  (Also check out this one from Thinkgeek, which is just as nice for half the price.)

Lightboxes are essential for great photos and if you don’t have one, I highly suggest to make one or get one soon.
