Powerline starter kit from Belkin

by David Allen on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Home or office networking can be a nightmare; you are either feeding Ethernet cables throughout the building or trying to set up a wireless network that offers a nice amount of coverage without spreading into the next door building.

Another way of creating a network is by using the powerlines, this technology has up until now been a bit temperamental, but Belkin claim to have all of the bases covered. Sure enough the you may lose some bandwidth through the system, but Belkin claim that it can run at a 1000 Mbps, so even if you lost half or three quarters the result would be reasonable.
