Taiwan builds solar powered stadium

by David Allen on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

With the World Games going to Taiwan this year, they have really gone to town on building a stadium that can truly compete with the Olympic Stadium in Beijing, this stadium is truly a work of art that has the look of a sleeping dragon, its scales being individual solar panels.

The stadium itself has been built in good time at a cost of £150 million; the stadium has over eight thousand, eight hundred solar panels covering a space of over fourteen thousand square metres. These panels will generate around eighty per cent of the stadiums energy requirements.
