If you were pyro-inclined like me back in middle school, you might have read “Poor Man’s James Bond” and tried making bunch of smoke bombs and whatnot.  Of course, nowdays you might want to be careful as people might mistaken you for a terrorist but heck, smoke bombs have always been pretty harmless, I don’t see why you shouldn’t make some.

About.com has a good detailed DIY on how to make a smoke bomb with the following ingredients:

Smoke Bomb Materials

• sugar (sucrose or table sugar)
• potassium nitrate, KNO₃, also known as saltpeter (buy it online or you can find this at some garden supply stores in the fertilizer section, some pharmacies carry it too)
• skillet or pan
• aluminum foil

I remember buying whole bunch of this stuff and made so much smoke bombs.  I felt like I was batman, able to fire off smoke bombs whenever I wanted to disappear in a hurry.
