Nunchucks crossed with light sabers
Now you can see a purpose for these and it is not for hitting people around the head with, as they clearly they would break, the nunchucks not the head. And besides why would you to draw attention to yourself if were going to do that anyway!
In reality I suspect that these are two large glow sticks, held together by some sort of link, this gives the user the look and feel of the double light saber. These would make for good entertainment at a street fair or disco.
