Blog Monetization - Still using Text Link Ads for selling your Links?

Posted in Advertising, Blog, Business, Business Ideas, Cool, Web, Wordpress, money by max on the December 11th, 2007 at 5:55 am

I’ve been getting into monetizing blogs lately and wrote a little article on selling text link ads on your blogs. Check it out and you can take control over the money you make on your blog and increase your profits!

You’ve probably seen bunch of sites that you can sign up for to sell text link ads on your site. I’ve personally tried Text-Link-Ads.com. Although I have made money through their system, I probably only made $200 a month at the most. The problem with these sites is that they take 50% of your sales! That’s a lot of money to give away if you ask me. Plus, they only sell on monthly basis, so you are not guaranteed a steady income.

The solution? Sell you text link ads on your blog as “lifetime” links or get your advertisers to commit to at least one year. That way, you get a large sum of money beforehand. Even if you sell one text link for $1000, you are better off putting that cash in your bank and not worrying about it rather than having to check every month how much you are making.

In other words, SELL your text link ads on your blog. Have a link to a simple explanation how advertisers can buy text link ads on your site. This keeps your life simpler since you only have to place the link once. Set it and forget it.

Here’s a guideline for selling links on your blog:

1. Offer any text links for $20 to $25 a pop. That’s very low for industrial average but you set it and forget it.

2. Offer “site-wide” text links for $1000 a pop. This site-wide link would be placed either on your sidebar or your footer. By offering a permanent links, you offer the advertiser a feature above all the other text link ad sites.

With this method, I’ve made more money within a week than all the money I made through Text-Link-Ads.com. I am not trying to bag on their policies but with the recent penalizations by Google, the best way to sell your links is to sell them directly to your customers and gain 100% profit.

Take control of your blog and monetize those text links that many many SEO companies are after. If you make money, make sure to ping this post by writing about it.

To sum up, think of how much money you can make if you sold 100 lifetime links for $1000. That’s $100,000 in your pocket and you can re-invest that money into advertising for your blog so you get more traffic and raise your PageRanking.

Don’t become a slave to one of those Text Link Ad companies that rip your money. (50%!!! Fu*k that. I will just sell my own links.) TAKE CONTROL of your blog today and MAKE MONEY ONLINE selling direct to your customers, readers, whatever.

P.S. I apologize for those text link ad companies, but I am telling the truth and you guys are selling text links off innocent bloggers who don’t know better.

Think about it? A text link ad company sells YOUR LINKS, not theirs. All they are did is setup a system to make 50% off your links. YES, again, YOUR LINKS!

FCUK BloggingPro - Sell your Blog Themes, you deserve it and you worked hard Ben!

Posted in Business, Cool, Web, Wordpress by max on the December 10th, 2007 at 9:49 pm

Hmm… looks like our friend Ben over at Blogging Experiment is pondering over whether to sell his customized WordPress Theme or not. I suggest him to incorporate in South Africa and don’t worry about what happens. Okay, that was a joke.

BTW, FCUK is a clothing line I like to wear, it stands for “French Connection United Kingdom“, so don’t be offended, it’s not the swear word…hahaha…

Here’s the comment he received from some BloggingPro, he know how to leave nasty comments w/o clear explanation:

Most of the code of this theme, as well as the graphics comes from the Blogging Pro Theme which is not GPL, it is Creative Commons. Which means you can’t sell this theme. You are profiting off of code you do not own. A quick look at the graphics, CSS, and even theme structure compared to the Blogging Pro theme will let you know this is the case.

Please do not sell this theme any longer, and I will be contacting the creator of the Blogging Pro theme, Design Disease, as well as the owners of the copyright, Bloggy Network LLC.

I think leaving a comment like this proves that they got nothin’ to support their case.

They clearly state here, “a quick look at the ….” Well, that means you should look a little closer, you dumba*s. They should really take a CLOSE look and compare it first before leaving a nasty comment. Check out their parent company, it’s got pictures from the 50s! (WTF? Can they hide behind some fake pics? At least put some pics in color!)

I’ve personally encountered worse comments before and they usually end up as nothing. Ben, my advice to keep selling your blog theme and ignore their stupidity and sue them first for leaving such a comment on your blog, fight for your rights. You can sue them for:

1. Disturbing your sales of your wordpress theme for however many days

2. Leaving such a nasty comment

3. Unprofessional behavior

You should really sue BloggingPro first and they will probably get scared and go into their hiding place or is it happy place?

You know the part about this comment that annoys me the most? It’s not even the fact that the blog owners Ben did something wrong or right, it’s that Bloggy Networks LLC think they can just push around people. These types of comments really annoy me the most. This is very unprofessional and they should keep that under e-mails or phone calls. I’d be happy to remove this post if you guys apologize to Ben and send us $10,000 to our PayPal account.

That’s my 2 cents on this issue, and stop wasting my time whoever it is. Just leave Ben alone! Peace out!

Wordpress Anti-SPAM Plugin - Math Comments Plugin

Posted in Blog, Cool, Wordpress by max on the December 10th, 2007 at 8:20 pm

After receiving DoS (Denial of Service) attacks from hackers and whatnot, we’ve decided to permanently place the Math Comments Plugin. Basically, robots won’t be able to waste any of our server’s precious time and bandwidth. I’ve seen almost zero SPAM comments on our other blogs such as Bedzine Mattress Store and Keetsa Mattress Store after this plugin was installed along with Trackback Verification plugin.

What does it do?

Well, you gotta be good in math or at least be able to add numbers. Until the spammers figure out how to do math, we should be okay and have less problems with our bandwidth.

Sorry for non-spammers out there, you will have to do a little math to comment but no big deal right?

For hackers, bring ‘em on! We love your challenge. We are ethical hackers and will spam, and hack you back 10 fold so… watch who u messin’ with, b**tch!  (We have a spam and DoS attacking machine here at Zedomax.com to counter-attack DoSers.)

DIY - HOWTO Convert your Doc files to PDF for free using GoogleDocs

DIY - HOWTO Convert your Doc files to PDF for free using GoogleDocs

With all the craze with Google whatever, here’s another useful Google tool you can use if you haven’t yet.

Try out the GoogleDocs where you can convert almost anything to and from anything including your Word document to PDF.

Google will probably take over Microsoft one day in this arena. I am rooting for Google even though they are getting so big, at least they convert past technology into the Web.

In the near future, you will be able to have a computer without any harddisks, meaning everything can be stored on the web.  Nice…

HOWTO Make Money Online like the Shoemaker!

Posted in Business, Business Ideas, Consumer, Cool, Web by max on the December 10th, 2007 at 10:28 am

Here’s a little story I made up tonight while talking to my girlfriend on how to find your niche market online:

Long time ago, before they had electricity in the Wild Wild West, there were cowboys and shoemakers. Cowboys killed bad guys and the Shoemakers made the best customized shoes in the whole Wild Wild West, which includes California, Nevada, Arizona, and couple other really dry states.

The cowboys only wanted shoes from this one shoemaker who practiced out of Dallas, Texas. He’s fame wasn’t grown by himself, it had been growing ever since his ancient relatives had immigrated to America from Amsterdam. He’s name was Jeremy, often dubbed as “the ShoeMaker”. They made these leather custom shoes with special iron inserts that’d protect you from anything, even bullets.

Here’s how he did it:

Every shoemaker in the country could make these customized bullt-proof shoe makes, but it was never any shoemakers’ speciality. Meaning, Jeremy the ShoeMaker was the best at the customized shoes, specially made for high pressure cowboy-style gun fights. He’s also the 3rd generation of previous Shoe making legends such as his Father, John ShoeMaker and his grandfather, Darren ShoeMaker. Soon, the general public caught on the the buzz of word-of-mouth marketing and started buying ShoeMaker’s shoes in a frenzy. Soon, the type of shoes became to be known as the “Shoemaker Shoes“. Although these shoes were copied and replicated by other shrewd shoemakers over and over, the legacy of the Shoemakers became known everywhere. The Shoemakers built a brand that could last 100 decades through word of mouth. Their sales? Incredibly explosive, exponential, equal to 9 figure numbers today.

The lesson in this story for our lifetime:

Jeremy ShoeMaker has dominated the market simply by having no competition. He sought out a blue ocean, not a bloody competitive red ocean where you are fightin’ for every dime. Once they had the market to monopolize, they used their specialty to promote themselves forever and ever.

HOWTO do it online:

Find a niche market no one is blogging, e-mailing, wiki-ing, facebooking, or myspacing about.

Make sure it’s something everyone else can copy but you will always be ahead.

Promote it with word-of-mouth like crazy. Network crazy with your fellow bloggers and make new ideas into new monetizable websites.

P.S. None of the names actually were meant to be associated with any real bloggers like Jeremy Shoemaker, John Chow, and Darren Rowse.
We didn’t mean to that is…lol…

Time bomb will cause nightmares

Posted in Art, Clocks, Cool, Funny, Household by david on the December 10th, 2007 at 6:00 am

This is going to get a few people in a lot of trouble, imagine sending this through the mail or taking home by plane or any other public transport, this would be bad news fro someone.

time bomb

There is a bit joke value in there somewhere, but I cannot imagine why anyone would even want to take the risk of being caught with something like, especially in this day and age. But for anyone who would to have one these “Time Bombs” sitting in their window, then it you could just say that it is your new clock!
