    Intel’s new intelligent Hand Robot!

    Intel\'s new intelligent Hand Robot!

Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode

Now here’s an intelligent robot that won’t crush your hand as it detects before grabbing stuff.

A robotic hand designed by Intel researchers is able to sense the general shape of objects before interacting with them.

The tips of its fingers send out a weak electrical impulse that objects interfere with, giving the hand a rough idea of what it’s about to grasp. Using electrolocation, as it’s known, is common in fish, particularly sharks, which detect electric fields better than any other animal.

    Telephone booth fish tank

Posted in Animals, Art, Consumer, Cool, Funny by david on the February 13th, 2008 at 8:00 am

Yes it had to happen some time and now some one has just gone and done it.

    phone fish tank

This looks as if it should be in some sort of sci fi film, which will account for the darkness and the size of the fish inside the telephone booth. I wonder how people have actually open the door of the phone booth, could get a bit messy!

Wow, check out these new color changing RGB Lamps! Although it’s not new tech, we give thumbs up for the design!

The lamp uses 4 LEDs, two red, one blue, and one green. By increasing, reducing, brightening or dimming each LED you get different colors!

The lamp uses a remote control so you can change LivingColors settings from anywhere in the room. What is smart on this remote is the fact that it remembers your last settings so you don’t need to reselect them.

The price for Philips LivingColors is £120.00. The product wasn’t release on the market, but you can preorder one from the Red5.co.uk shop.

    Testing the water

Posted in Consumer, Contest, Cool, Gadgets, Games by david on the July 2nd, 2007 at 3:00 pm

This is supposed to be the key to catching the big one! The temperature of the water that is, fishermen have always believed that the quality of the fishing is down to the temperature of the water, which is where this device comes in very handy indeed.

    fishing help

The William Joseph Infrared Thermometer is the key to the big fish for the serious fisherman, all they need do is point this at the water and press the button and the temperature is displayed a few seconds later, all that they need to know is the right temperature for the right type of fish and that’s it.

Naturally this could be considered by some die hard professionals as cheating, but if it works!
