DIY HACK - HOWTO make a Solar-powered bike helmet with night lights!

Wow, it looks like there a lot of solar powered stuff that’s coming out lately. Check out this instructable that shows you how to make a solar powered bike helmet with night lights!
This project could be done in many different ways and I spent a lot of time trying different parts and ideas. The key breakthroughs for me were to use 3 AAA batteries, vs the 4AA’s that came with the Solar Panel because they were a better balance of weight to the right amount of power and milliamps. I ended up using a simple soft case Velcro wrapped to the helmet, and relied heavily on Black Shoe Goo! (I think it’s the new duct tape). Most of the work was getting an easy rapid prototype idea to work rain or shine, for months on end, and be versatile with replaceable parts. I kept it flat black because the helmet is flat black, so chips don’t show. And I’m in New York City, where black is the default color.

The Web 2.0 T Shirt
This is a great stylish T shirt which has a list of 79 social networking sites in coloured tick boxes, which will impress some people and thoroughly confuse others.

The tick boxes are for you to tick before you wear it, that way those who about these sites will then know which ones you belong too.

It’s amazing that there are 79 social networking sites around, obviously we all know of the more famous ones, but there must be some really extremely obscure one on there too, where do I sign?

Little battery powered lamps
These great little lamp kits come on a sort of circuit board type of material, which needs to be trimmed up and then fixed together without any glue or anything and then connected to a nine volt battery.

They look like they are a bit of fun, but you are going to have to ask the question, Why? There are four sets to choose from, just in case you feel like you may need to buy the whole collection or something.

They are all priced at $19.99, nine volt battery not provided.

iPhone HACK - Get the latest Jailbreak v.1.1.2 and hack your iPhone!
Check out this cool new Jailbreak v.1.1.2 for your iPhone. I am not sure what kind of features you get for installing this Jailbreak OS but does seem like a fun thing to do if you have couple iPhones laying around.
Conceited Software has just released an updated version of “TouchFree” GUI based to Jailbreak the latest iPhone firmware v1.1.2 and now works on Windows as well as both Mac (though Intel-based only).
However, the catch here is that for it to work you need to first run OktoPrep on iPhone v1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2. The entire JailBreaking process takes approximatley 10 minutes and as per Erica Sudan retrieves data off your iPhone or iPod Touch, upgrades it with the JailBreak, also installs the cool Installer.app and SSH.app and reloads it back to your iPhone or iPod Touch.
So for it to work you will first need to have your iPhone or iPod Touch running on firmware v1.1.1 and Jailbroken with Installer.app installed so that you can install OktoPrep which is available via the Installer App.

The retro webcam
This little retro webcam is really cool, it looks like one of those cameras that they used to use in the 1950’s and 1960’s or one of those trick ones that when you press the button it squirts water all over the person in front.

The specs:
Imaging sensor: 1.3M CMOS
Max. webcam resolution: 640×480 VGA
Frames per second: max 30
Still pictures format: JPEG- 1.3M Pixel
Connection: USB 2.0
Power supply: USB Powered
Dimension: 25×40×16mm (LxWxD)
System: Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista Mac OSX
One button still picture shots
Connected expanding USB cord- 77cm length

It’s a neat little camera that when fitted to the laptop it actually looks entirely different and not really out of place at all.
Priced at just $7.60.
