Microfiber fabric = electricity ???

Wow, check out this Yahoo news that microfiber fabric might produce electricity. We might just be able to start generating electricity everytime we move a finger!
CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. scientists have developed a microfiber fabric that generates its own electricity, making enough current to recharge a cell phone or ensure that a small MP3 music player never runs out of power.

Tight, this is way too cool and good for our mother nature.
The one essential thing that a cell phone has that a call shop doesn’t is a battery, so using parts found in a junk yard we created a constantly recharging battery by pedal power. Electricity is generated as the person is traveling to his destination, if the battery runs low at the destination he can drop the kick stand and start cycling in place. Generating electricity from pedaling allows us to travel to the central park, a remote town or a big festival increasing access to inexpensive telephony anywhere.
Zinc power goes commercial
This CellPac power pack will give the user as much power as 40 AA batteries could provide, which if you wanted it in another way, this is enough power to fully charge up a cell phone ten times.

This is kinda cool way to control an LCD hooked up to Ardunino with browsers including your mobile phone.
In conclusion, this code may be pretty ragged, but the concept is what is important and it should be enough to get you started. You obviously can’t do anything too intense with this. It could be used to do some simple but cool things though such as controlling your house from your cell phone, or feeding your dog or cat over the internet, etc. Once again, please e-mail me if you need help getting it working for your project.

Underwater Cellphone Cover - Take your cellphone underwater!

Now you can take your cellphone underwater with you with this underwater cellphone cover. How clever is that! Someone should have thought of this earlier.
It even allows you to take clear pictures! (goggles for your cell?)
I know the first picture is difficult to see as it is a translucent case on a white background…as we say in Japan, shouganai. Cell phone cameras are getting better so you can use them for taking photos once reserved for your pocket camera. For underwater shots, Corega gives us a waterproof case, the CG-WP-C10 and CG-WP-C20. The two cases are different sizes so one of them should fit your portable.
The dog and phone
This little cute dog called the Kam Kam Mobile Alert, is just the place to a cell phone, it looks nice safe and the dog wags its tail for fifteen seconds if the phone rings.

Of course what would be better is if they trained the dog to bring the phone to you, now that would be cute.
Price $29.99.
