Get on your bike and cut the grass

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Cycling, Design, DoItYourself!, Funny, Gadgets by david on the October 3rd, 2007 at 8:00 am

You know how it is, you have a got a large garden and really want a ride on mower to cut it, but they cost a couple thousand dollar, so what do you do?

Build your own like these guys have this recycling and reusing at the same time, now you would get some great eco points there, but would this really cut the grass?

There are no prices on these machines, just make your own, and be the envy of your street!

My neighbor had one of those (about 15 years ago) and I remember it was a good mower. But he really had to put effort in moving it though because it doesn’t work very well if you only walk, so he ran with it around his yard like a madman.

Oh yeah, I’ve tried these mower bikes at the Maker Faire but they don’t seem to be too effective… I think they need to put an electric motor that also powered the mower itself to make it work right.
