How do you know if meat if fresh?

Well there are sell by and use by dates on packets, but that can be a little hit or miss, so apart from smelling it yourself, what else can you do to make sure that you do not get food poisoning?

Have a look a this device, It is called the SensorFreshQ and what it does is check the air around the meat too detect any bacteria, which does actually give off gases, which is what you can sometimes smell, the device can detect early.

    Well fuzz is one thing but not all meat smells bad when it's just about to go bad. I've often thrown away meat just to be safe. I'm not sure if an $80 unitasker device is the answer but I applaud the effort. Perhaps if it had an infrared temperature sensor, too, for the same price.
