Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets by david on the June 29th, 2007 at 9:00 am

This is the Porsche Design Cronographe PTC, and we should have known by the images as it is like the cars, smart, sharp and looks like it is going to be high performance, and we would be right.

porsche watch

Being a limited edition, this watch has a titanium case, which is 42 mm in diameter; the dial is fixed to the watch by sapphire crystals on both sides. While the underneath has a glass bottom, so the workings inside can be seen, and naturally there are a few splashings of Porsche, on the both sides of the watch.

The watch is water proof to 100 meters and will cost around $7,540.

Cool Nintendo GameCube Zelda Mod on eBay!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Gadgets, Games, Graphics, Hack by max on the June 29th, 2007 at 5:08 am

GameCube Mod

I finally got my HP DV9000-CTO notebook back from HP.  Somehow, my motherboard burned out but they replaced it so that’s good.

Michael Page submitted his cool GameCube Zelda mod on ebay. Check it out and bid on it if you want it before someone else takes it!

I just finished making my Gold Zelda GameCube. I am selling it on eBay and giving a portion to the ‘child’s play charity.’

The top of the console where you inset the disc has a large image of Navi the fairy from the Zelda series which glows blue when the console is on. This looks amazing!

Just above the controller ports there have been precision drilled holes that light up, displaying the player number.

The controller ports themselves light up blue (player1), green (player2), white (player3) and red (player4).

Both the right and left fans on the GameCube light up in a bright white, which illuminates the ground around the GameCube.

The once black disc cover plate has been changed over with a transparent panel, which lets you see you games running. The discs inside the GameCube are lit up by three blue super bright LED’s, built into the case.

The consoles ability to play games has not been affected at all, it works perfectly! The extra LED’s use a tiny amount of power, it is pretty much as energy efficient as a normal GameCube.

Blu Ray giving away movies

Posted in Audio, Consumer, Entertainment, Gadgets, mp3, ps3 by david on the June 28th, 2007 at 2:00 pm

Is it a forgone conclusion that Blu Ray has already won the battle of the Hi Dev format? Or are they just making sure that they get enough customers using the format that everyone else will have no choice, similar to the battle of the video players in the early 1980’s.

The tripod that is always on

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets by david on the June 28th, 2007 at 12:00 pm

This device will solve any problems that you have ever had with getting the picture right. You know how it is with uneven surfaces, imagine you are taking a nice family picture, you balance the camera and just as the picture is about to be taken the camera moves slightly and you end up with a picture of the floor or just a load of feet.

millipod

The millipod is supposed to be the slimmest tripod around, and it attaches permanently to the bottom of the camera and it is then forgotten about until you have then need for it.

Because you have three legs on the camera you can always find an even balance, which will help the camera stay even.

The push pin night light

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Suppliers by david on the June 28th, 2007 at 10:00 am

The lamp that looks like a mega large pin in a piece of cork but is really a lamp. This is a great piece of design and innovation. Comes in Lime, Marine Blue, Mandarin and Matt Clear.

What is really good is the base is actually made from cork and can be used for pining messages to by using the real pins to fix your message to the base; no doubt some lamps will be fuller than others. pin light

This is not really practical for children’s rooms, as the light is activated by pushing the pin into the base.
