Looking back at Computer Animation on Apple IIe

Here’s a really loud but awesome animation using an old Apple!
Read all about the Apple’s features before you go get an iMac (Now, you can appreciate it…more…

Only Apple II makes it that easy. It’s a complete, ready to use computer—not a kit. At $1298, it includes features you won’t find on other personal computers costing twice as much.
Features such as video graphics in 15 colors. And a built-in memory capacity of 8K bytes ROM and 4K bytes RAM —with room for lots more. But you don’t even need to know a RAM from a ROM to use and enjoy Apple II. It’s the first personal computer with a fast version of BASIC—the English-like programming language—permanently built in. That means you can begin running your Apple II the first evening, entering your own instructions and watching them work, even if you’ve had no previous computer experience. The familiar typewriter-style keyboard makes communication easy. And your programs and data can be stored on (and retrieved from) audio cassettes, using the built-in cassette interface, so you can swap with other Apple II users. This and other peripherals—optional equipment on most personal computers, at hundreds of dollars extra cost—are built into Apple II. And it’s designed to keep up with changing technology, to expand easily whenever you need it to As an educational tool, Apple II is a sound investment. You can program it to tutor your children in most any subject, such as spelling, history or math. But the biggest benefit—no matter how you use Apple II—is that you and your family increase your familiarity with the computer itself. The more you experiment with it, the more you discover about its potential.
Robogames 2007

I went to the Robogames 2007 today, it was wild! It’s not every day you see a 250 pound robot throw another 250 pound robot into the ceiling. The whole event was smaller than Maker Faire but there was plenty to see and do. Definitely stop by on Sunday the 17th after 12:00 noon, and head for the robot combat arena, if you’re in the San Francisco area! Otherwise you’ll have to wait until next year. Check out my Flickr set for Robogames 2007 and get more information at Robogames.net.
Using a cell phone while driving
This could be a thing of the past, when a system created by HWST USA, can detect if a cell phone is being used by a driver of car while the car is moving.
This has been seriously considered by many states in the US, as the chances of an accident is increased by around 400 per cent if a driver is using a cell phone while driving.

The system will automatically detect if the driver is using a cell phone and records the car in order for the authorities to make a case against the offender, although it has to be said that in some states it is not an offence.
The system will detect and cite drivers and in some case it has been considered that a paint gun be attached to the system and firs on the car to notify the police down the road, there has even been talk of some sort of EMP system that can knock the cell phone out of action, scary!!

Wind charger for cell phones
European cell phone operator Orange had been working together with the University of Texas to develop this wind powered cell phone charger.
It has been developed just as the music festival season begins in the UK, particularly the world famous Glastonbury festival, notorious for the torrential rainfall that it normally gets, and some top bands too!

This charger works on the principal that the windmill type rotor is placed on the top of the tents that all the festival goers love to take with them, but in order to stay in touch with home they would normally have to keep switching the cell phones off when they are not in use, now they can be left on all of the time.

A puzzle of a table
The Rubik’s cube has to be one the icons from the 1980’s, millions of these were sold and most of them still cannot be completed.

So to remind everyone of the most famous puzzle in the world, a company called Babesta.com has produced a giant sized Rubik’s cube, but this time it is just for show only as a nice a brightly colored coffee table.
The only thing that is really difficult with this Rubik’s cube is deciding if it is worth the $600 or not!
