Check out this cool Multi-Touch Multimedia device. This could be a cool combination of touch, sound, and video for future video game controls.
MultiTouch is the ability of an input controller to detect multiple fingers simultaneously. Multitouch input devices are just starting to be seen in the real world, rather than just in the movies (the most famous being “Minority Report”). MAKE magazine has even declared them the The Future of Interfaces.
For Maker Faire 2007, I propose to demonstrate a variety of graphical, musical, video, and browser-based applications that I’ve developed that show some of the unique capabilities of use of MultiTouch controllers. Below is a picture of the custom controller I’ve built containing 3 Fingerworks iGesture pads (each capable of detecting multiple fingers simultaneously with excellent resolution and responsiveness), and a JLCooper CS32 with lots of sliders and buttons for additional control.

Maker Faire 2007 - DIY - Use your Icebox as a Photography Studio!

Here’s a really simple cool way to use your icebox as a Photography Studio. Since I got one for fishing, I can use it for my photo shoots too! (except anything I put in the icebox WILL start to smell like the ocean)
I think this is their website.
You can check out more pictures from our flickr Maker Faire Day 1 and Maker Faire Day 2.

Serious 14X Digital camera
The camera has a scope with fully refracting optics, giving 14X magnification. The camera part has 3.1 mega pixel with 32 MB of built in memory, this should be able to store 38 hi res images or around 30 seconds of continuous VGA video, you can also add up to 2 GB of addenda memory, by using SD cards.

The camera also has a 2 inch LCD screen for image previews and uses the USB port to download photos and videos to the computer, for storage etc. The camera includes a shutter release cable for blur-free shots, a rotatable tripod adapter, and a protective carrying case. Requires two AA batteries. 11″ L x 6″ W x 6″ D. (3 1/2 lbs.)
The 14X spotting scope digital camera will cost around $500.

Top of the range pet food bowl
Now for someone who likes to treat their pet, whether it is a dog or cat, then a how about spoiling them with an automatic feeding bowl.

The bowl can be set to feed the dog or cat at intervals of your choice, this can be either 8, 12, or 24, the bowl itself is split into three sections, which means you can leave the pet indoors, knowing full well that he or she will be getting fresh food at a regular interval, instead of putting a whole days food out at once.
Another great idea is that you are able to record to special voice mail message so that your pet will know when it is feeding time.
Features:
- Bowl separated into 3 trays, lids, and slide cover
- Bowl dismantles for easy cleaning
- 4 x C batteries (not included)
- LED Low battery indicator
- 20 seconds voice recording and playback function
- 355mm (base)
- 275mm (dia of tray)
Price is $39.99

The healthy mouse
There cannot really be many reason for checking your heartbeat constantly especially while surfing the net, I mean your bound to get your pulse racing a sometime, it stands to reason.

But for those who are health conscious or have to monitor the heart for health reasons then the new mouse from those clever people over at Yanko Design, have combined a heart monitor and a mouse, just don’t check your bank balance with it!!
It would be quite interesting to see this given out into a large office and see who stay the calmest, but on a more healthier point, if you have a heart compliant, this can be set up to transmit to the hospital for them to monitor at regular intervals, which has to be a good thing.

A heated keyboard
Just what we need here in the UK, where it is either raining or cold and people who work with computers all day long get a problem commonly known as “Mouse Hand” that is where you hold the mouse all day long coupled with the cold, means your hand is stuck around the mouse.

Now if we all had one of these, life would be so much better, the heated keyboard, which will keep all of, your digits attached to your hand and not stuck to the keyboard.
The keyboard is connected to the computer via the USB port, this unique keyboard has a couple of settings, low heat around 85F to 90F, this is normal hand temperature and high heat 95F to 100F, this is normal body temperature.
