The gear clock

Posted in Consumer, Funny by david on the May 30th, 2007 at 11:00 am

This is a fantastic looking clock which, is unusal because clocks are normally fairly boring things, but this one at first glance does not immediately strike you as being a time piece but once you have realized that it is a clock, you then have to try and work out how to tell the time, it is this what makes it so interesting.

cog clock

This clock uses gears to work; they gradually take the clocks movement around the inside of the rim, the face or rim with the numbers on being the largest cog in the movement.

The clock at the moment is sold out, but the stocks will soon be replenished and the cost will be around $150.

There are many reasons for having a light bulb on a key ring, but how would you power it up? Of course the mini light bulb has its own power source and is in reality a light in the shape of a light bulb, quite interesting though.

The light that is deluded

Posted in Consumer, DoItYourself! by david on the May 29th, 2007 at 3:00 pm

If you have delusions of grandeur, or maybe you just have a funny streak running through your veins, then this should be right up your street.

chandelier

The silhouette of a grand crystal chandelier sprawling across the ceiling, what this is basically a decal or sticker that can be placed carefully in the direction that you need to it go, and its done, you do not even need to have a proper light fitting on the ceiling it could just be a bit of cable with a light bulb and light fitting.

Even though it is just a decal, the price is slightly higher than you may think it is, at $134 your sense of humor will be quickly flattened at that price.

Have nice peaceful night

Posted in Audio, mp3 by david on the May 29th, 2007 at 2:00 pm

Its tough having to get up early, when you are waiting for the alarm to go off, when all night you have heard noises from outside, and inside your home, however you are unable to use ear buds to keep the noise out because then you would not hear your own alarm, this can be very frustrating, until recently.

earlarm

But now there is a product from Mini Castle that can give you a peaceful nights sleep and still hear your alarm in the morning, these work similar to how ear bud would work, but without any sound, until the right time is reached and an alarm wakes you up.

But these are not just for sleeping with, they have a number uses, anything where you a reminder, when to call someone, take medicine or take a break from driving or work, the possibilities are virtually endless.

The cost of these are $14.99 or $13.99 if you by a pack of ten.

Pod Xtreme for great sound

Posted in Audio, mp3 by david on the May 29th, 2007 at 1:00 pm

This is the Pod Xtreme Sound Box for the iPod, this is an add on speaker, but with a difference, it delivers powerful sound and bass boost, from the tiny iPod, now that is something that I would like to have on the train to work.

podxtreme

The device s powered by an integrated rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, which will get charged via the USB port on the computer or a normal electric socket.

This is a great way to hear music via the iPod without any of the crackles and distortions that you get with other iPod speakers, and the price of this is just about $30 now you can’t argue about that one!

For serious networking only

Posted in Consumer, Wireless by david on the May 29th, 2007 at 12:00 pm

Having a wireless network at home or at work, means having a wireless router, these are ok, but the signal is not that brilliant all of the time, so what about this baby.

slurpr

Introducing the “Slurpr” the high speed wi-fi broadband router, it searches for the six strongest signals and combines them altogether to create one large super fast signal of free Internet!

Actually in some countries it is highly frowned upon to use free internet no matter how harmless the intentions are, in fact here in the UK, it has been known for people to be sent to prison for doing exactly this, although all they were doing is surfing.

Technical specs: The Slurpr consists of a Six-channel wardrive-box broadbandrouter with 6 11/54Mbit fully configurable Wi-Fi connections bundled and redistributed to 9 wired ethernet connections. A 266MHz MIPS CPU with 64MB RAM with Linux installed on a 1GB Compact Flash card powers this extraordinary set-up.
