How safe are you to drive

by David Allen on Friday, May 18th, 2007

It is so easy to miss-judge when you have had enough to drink and drive home, but as this is such a serious thing it is good to see a great gadget being brought out, this device will analyze your breath and give you a clear indication as to what your alcohol level is and whether or not you should be driving.

Because everyone’s body is different the guide that is given may not be that accurate, so you may think that just because you have had two drinks that you will be clear, but some drinks are stronger than others and some people can handle the alcohol easier than others can, why take that chance.

BreathKey Features:

* About the size and weight of most keyless car entry remotes.
* The only digital keychain breathalyzer certified by the FDA.
* The only consumer breathalyzer to use a fuel cell alcohol sensor, just
like those used by police departments across the nation.
* Lifetime battery assures years of use, even if breathalyzer is used daily.
* Deep-lung air sample results in increased accuracy.
* Ready to use in just a few seconds.
* Clear, English prompts and digital LCD display make use easy.
* The only consumer breathalyzer made in the USA.
* Great way to help protect those you love!

  • If the government were truly dedicated to ending drinking and driving they'd have one of these installed in every new vehicle made and you'd have to blow in it (and pass of course) before you could start your car. Of course this won't happen because there are too many lobbyists and the states make too much money of DUIs. It's sad but true. That being said, how great would it be for large parking lots outside of stadiums to have these. You'd have to pass before being let out onto the streets. I guess it could cause logistical problems etc but still, devices this small and this easy to use should eliminate the excuse of not knowing how much you were impaired etc.

Yes, it's probably going to be a violation of people's privacy and freedom to certain extent if government had these hooked up to all the cars. Anyways, I am looking forward to the Maker Faire, I just got this Logitech camera working with ustream!!! So excited for tomorrow, can't sleep!
