Crack is Whack - iPhone 3G Cracks Everywhere!

Posted in Apple, Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, News, iPhone, iPhone 3G by max on the July 30th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

iPhone 3G Cracks - Who cares, I told you so!

The news is that iPhone 3G is causing a quite a stir with its “crack”.  Well, it’s always a great idea to have never bought one in the first place.  Wait until the “crack” is gone.

My honest recommendation is to wait for the iPhone 4G, where speeds will actually match the dollar amount you pay out from your pocket.  Or maybe this crack isn’t that common unless you drop it from the roof.

“Crack is whack!” Whitney Houston said.

Nokia E71 Now available in the U.S.!

Nokia E71 Now available in the U.S.!

I am not a big fan of most Nokia cellphones due to the fact that their web browser compared horrible to others but in this case, the Nokia E71 might prove to be a lot better than its companions.

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — An eager crowd greeted the official arrival of the highly anticipated Americas version (GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 850/1900) of the Nokia E71 at a private event in the Nokia Flagship Store in midtown Manhattan on the evening of Thursday, July 24th. Attracted by its balance of style, features and services, the invited guests had each signed up to ensure that they would be among the first people in the United States to bring home this exciting new device.
The Nokia E71, which at .39 inches thick, is the slimmest QWERTY device on the market, is now available to the general public through a variety of consumer electronics, wireless and online retailers, and at the Nokia
Flagship Stores in Chicago and New York.

Stewart F1 Electric Pull-Cart for your next Golfing Decade!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Gadgets, Golf, Sports by max on the July 30th, 2008 at 2:08 pm

Stewart F1 Electric Pull-Cart for your next Golfing Decade!

I am probably not old enough to qualify to use an electric pull-cart and too stubborn to stop carrying my golf bag but if you are old enough and you do not like carrying your clubs, here’s the Stewart F1 Electric Pull-cart that will get you around 36 holes of golf in high-flying style.

When folded, the F1 Lithium occupies just one third of the floor space of the X3R and 40% less overall volume. In trademark Stewart Golf style; elegance and practicality have been combined with the minimum of fuss.

Despite the obvious associations one may draw to motorsport, the F1 name came about during the products development. At any one time, Stewart Golf has a number of concepts for future products on the drawing board. Due to its folding chassis, this concept was known as ‘the folding one’ which was quickly abbreviated to ‘F1′ which is where it stuck.

How to Turn your iPhone into a Dyno with Dynolicious!

Posted in Apple, Auto, Cars, Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, cell phones, iPhone, iPhone 3G by max on the July 30th, 2008 at 1:02 pm

How to Turn your iPhone into a Dyno with Dynolicious!

Here’s a cool new iPhone app called Dynolicious that will turn your iPhone into a real Dyno using iPhone’s already-capable accelerometer.

This is definitely going to beat buying a stand-along Dyno or making an accelerometer yourself.

Dynolicious is the first automotive performance meter available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Dynolicious uses the hardware built-in to your iPhone to measure the performance characteristics of your vehicle. No external wires or equipment is necessary, simply slip the iPhone into a cradle or cupholder and go!

Some of the performance metrics Dynolicious can measure:

  • 0-60 Acceleration
  • 1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
  • Lateral G’s
  • Horsepower

Unlike other accelerometer-based performance meters, Dynolicious uses the advanced data-handling and display capabilities of the iPhone to make the most of your performance testing. Dynolicious maintains a history of test runs, showing you averages and trends in your results. Dynolicious also allows you to enter modifications performed to your vehicle, and will instantly show before-and-after results to easily identify gains or losses.

Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler will not fit most PC Cases!

Posted in CPU, Computer, Consumer, Cool, Design, Gadgets by max on the July 30th, 2008 at 11:56 am

Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler will not fit most PC Cases!

Maybe it was just a picture, but the above pic does make it seem like the Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler is too big to fit in most PC cases.

As you can see, the CPU cooler actually fits well inside a PC case while the cooling metal fins are designed right next to your power supply and vent fans for maximum cooling.

I think this CPU Cooler might cool most CPUs pretty good. (of course, don’t compare it to a liquid cooling or does it?)

Porsche 911 Wireless Mouse Baby!

Porsche Wireless Mouse Baby!

A company in South Korea has launched their new portable Porsche 911 wireless mouse.  I don’t think these will ever make it to the States unless they did get some branding approval from Porsche or maybe they will pass as knockoffs.  (but the Porsches do look awfully real for mouse)

Well, last but not least, you do get to become a Porsche owner without spending 50 Gs with these.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) — <Visual News> Most Vantech(www.vaax.co.kr) has presented its mini sports car-shaped wireless mouse ‘Minicute NANO 1600DPI’ in Korea market, which is designed for mini notebooks.

Equipped with a 2.4GHz Nano-receiver, the Minicute NANO mouse supports up to 1600dpi optical sensor. Suggested price is 39,000(KRW).

SofaBox is not really a box you can carry around!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Entertainment, Furniture, Gadgets by max on the July 30th, 2008 at 3:21 am

SofaBox is not really a box you can carry around!

Here’s SofaBox, a giant portable sofa all encased in what seems like a stainless-steel box.  Let’s face it, you will probably never want to go anywhere with this so-called box.  However, it does beat traditional sofas as far as portability goes.

I think the designers really need to “re-design” to make it smaller and more portable.  This isn’t a well thought-out stuff.

Microsoft Sphere for the Educational Market

Microsoft Sphere for the Educational Market

Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode

Here’s a cool Multi-Touch Sphere thingee in development by Microsoft.

REDMOND, Wash.– A group of academics will be among the first people outside Microsoft to see Sphere, a spherical surface computer developed by Microsoft Research.

The sphere-shaped, multitouch computer is similar to the tabletop Surface computer that Microsoft announced last year after years in development. This incarnation, however, remains a project within Microsoft Research and the company has no current plans to bring it to market.

The university researchers are at Microsoft as part of its yearly Faculty Summit. Also at the event, Microsoft announced a series of tools for researchers, including a plug-in for Office that lets people embed a Creative Commons license directly into their Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents.
