DIY - How to make a solar food dehydrator!

Here’s a cool DIY on how to make your own solar food dehydrator and get dried bananas like shown.
The idea of creating a hybrid, solar food dehydrator, that also adhered to as many of the principles of modern food dehydration as possible sounded excellent to me. The potential of using this old system in new ways can save both power and materials. The original goal was to produce a solar dehydrator that had an upfront cost similar to a conventional dehydrator, but used less industrialized materials in addition to harnessing the sun’s energy, which reduces the energy impact associated with conventional food dehydration (discussed later).
Could I construct something that would do this with the limited knowledge I have about solar design?
Zedomax Server Upgrade Complete!

Noticed we haven’t been posting as much lately? We got a server upgrade (now we got more servers) over the last couple days to handle more traffic and make the website load faster.
Finally, we are ready to go at full speed again without being slowed down by mysql and web server. We now have different servers to handle the mysql and the web server.
If you want to know about running a more efficient web server, check out this article on mysql and web server on different boxes.
Thanks goes to Vax and Spas at Aplus.net dedicated server team for getting us back online at a faster speed. (Yes, we got more servers now… we are starting to learn about server farms…)

DIY - Simple LCD Control with Ethernet

Here’s a cool project that you can control your LCD with ethernet.
The simple “switch on/off a relay” circuit which was the only function provided by the avr web server until now did not require HTML-forms. I used simply 2 URLs http://baseurl/password/1 for switching on and http://baseurl/password/0 for switching off. This does not work anymore for the display as we want to type a text into a web page which should then be shown on the display. What is needed is a needed is a proper decoding of HTML form data.
DIY HACK - Voltmeter Ammeter LCD

Check out voltmeter and ammeter LCD panel you can make using an Atmel8 MCU. Tight!
This multimeter was designed to measure output voltage and current in a PSU, where the current sense shunt resistor is connected in series with load at the negative voltage rail. It needs only one supply voltage that can be acquired from main PSU. An additional function of the multimeter is that it can control (switch on and off) an electric fan used to cool the main heatsink. The power threshold at which the fan switches on can be adjusted using One Touch Button Setup.
DIY - Floppy Disk Bag

Make a floppy disk bag with your old floppy disk drives. It probably would be the geekiest bag ever!
This is a bag I made from floppy disks. I found scads of floppy disks in a dumpster and wanted to make plate mail armor out of it (that is my next floppy project) I found out that a bag would be a great proof of concept project. Here goes..

HACK - Wifi T-mobile Steal

This articles been around for awhile now but it shows you how easy it is for hackers to “phish” your T-mobile passwords. Just be aware next time you are in the airport!
Wireless hotspots are everywhere. With T-Mobile, Concourse, Wayport, etc., a mobile user can obtain connectivity quickly and easily in a wide variety of public locations. Some of these hotspots are free and some of them require a fee or subscription. Either way, you will continue to see how being in a public Wi-Fi hotspot poses the greatest security risk you will find.
