Wow check out this Wifi CAN TV. Here’s a way you can make your own WiFi video station. This
could possibly very helpful for schools who are trying to setup their own video streaming classes.

This device is helping to deliver TV on the cheap. For about $34.00 you could build your own. Read more about the WiFi Can TV at Geekcorps. If you are interesting in building your own check out the detailed instructions in PDF Form. The heart of the device is a module from Airwave Technologies, you can have a look at the specs. and buy your own from Active Robots.

“In the village of Bourem Inaly, Mali there are over 120 television sets powered by 12-volt car batteries, but there is almost nothing to watch. With its CanTV project, Geekcorps has helped the local radio station stream video content to the local community over WiFi. The radio station, which rents these units out, benefits from a new monthly revenue stream while the villagers benefit with an improved source of news and entertainment.

One goal of the CanTV project is to make it possible to build the CanTV receivers or TV cantennas (antennas built with cans) using locally using locally available parts, with the exception of the $25 audio/video receiver currently imported from Canada. Also, the TV cantennas have been designed so that a local technician can quickly learn how to install them without special tools. The radio station already has access to television broadcasts via satellite, and a TV over WiFi transmitter installed in August 2005 by Moussa Keita of Geekcorps.”

Nintendo DS Midi HACK!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Entertainment, Gadgets, Games, Hack by max on the November 24th, 2006 at 3:16 pm

Okay…hackaday has found a nintendo ds midi hack for you…try it if you need it,
otherwise, check out our other stories!

This is what German hacker/student/musician Tob, who created the cool NitroTracker old-school tracker app for the DS has been working on: Software to turn put easy-to-use MIDI into the Nintendo DS using WiFi. Previously, you’ve had to use hardware. The DS obviously sucks as a keyboard, but is great as a little X-Y controller like a Kaoss Pad, and presumably there’s no reason why he can’t build a simple XOX drum programmer, a little Lemur clone, or even a virtual Monome. Tob is still developing the software - as you can see from the video, it’s in a pretty early stage - but it will be released ASAP. And even if you don’t have a DS, stick with this video long enough to hear the guy playing ‘We Will Rock You’ though the onboard sounds… (via the wonderful Robot Porn blog, which is currently building a MIDI Keytar. Thanks Philip)

Hack Zune on your Vista

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Gadgets, Hack by max on the November 24th, 2006 at 12:41 pm

You need 3 things to put your Zune to hook up with your Vista, that includes:

1) Zune CD
2) WinRAR
3) zune.msi

You can now check out modaco’s hack on how to sync your Zune to your Vista.
The only thing is, you do need a Microsoft Zune and a PC with 64-bit processor compatible
Vista.  Well, I am too lazy to get a Zune or Vista installed on my PC, but if you’ve got the
time to spare, you got the link and can tell us all about it.

can get started with and get your drumming to go automatic for you so you can
spend more time making your music instead of drummin’ it all the way down.

Control your XBOX with a PSP

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Entertainment, Gadgets, Games, Hack by max on the November 24th, 2006 at 6:04 am

Yes here’s how you can control your XBOX with a PSP, but do you really need to do that?
We think it’s pointless, but then, if you are a techno-geek with all kinds of game hardware
you can get your hands on for free, we don’t see why not. So the overview is, this is
a useful technology for people with XBOX and PSP. But I would rather get a PS3…

Well, thanks always goes to Philip Torrone at Make, he’s blog inspired us. Anyways, we will try to get more cool stuff in the future, and thanks everyone for coming to our idiotic site about DIYs and our new slogan, “review on reviews”.

We will try to bring you more harsh positive critiques of various technology gadgets and whatnot.  We really don’t care about what the world thinks, we just want to get our own perspective of our take on technology.  Well, technology is gettting too crazy for us, we are just going to have some blast this weekend at the Zedomax party in San Francisco at Suite 181, come join us if you are around!  We will be getting some cool long island ice teas, hot girls, and more!

Interactive Pillow

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets by max on the November 23rd, 2006 at 8:18 pm

Here’s a cool interactive pillow that turns on lights when it senses low-light situations.
Maybe they can take this idea further and integrate it with memory-foam pillows, and
maybe integrate it to memory-foam mattresses
